Broccoli (Brassica oleracea) is an outstanding cool-season vegetable and is more tolerant of extreme temperature changes than some brassicas. Native to the Mediterranean, broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable valued for its fiber, vitamins A, C, and K, minerals, and antioxidants. And fall is the best time of year to grow broccoli in North Texas!
