DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite all DCMGA members and friends of our long-time gardening colleague\, Bill Moen\, to join us in honoring his memory by helping tidy his beloved home garden for his Celebration of Life. Bill passed away late last week\, and his wife\, Monica\, hopes the garden he cherished can be refreshed in his honor. Bill contributed significantly to our organization\, including leading the redesign of the DCMGA website\, which continues to earn praise from other associations. We will gather on Wednesday\, December 3\, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 303 Mimosa Dr.\, Denton—a nice\, wide street with plenty of easy parking and located close to the fairgrounds. Please bring your usual garden tools\, including rakes and pruners\, as we clean walkways\, pull weeds\, rake leaves\, and lightly prune where needed. Many hands make light work\, and your presence would be a meaningful way to celebrate Bill and the joy he found in gardening.    This is not for VS; this will be for the love of our friend. \nThis workday is limited to 30 participants.

DESCRIPTION:Attendees are asked to bring tools they would like to learn how to maintain or repair. Sonny Smith is a Master Gardener\, Class of 2017\, an avid gardener\, and a hobby blacksmith for over 30 years. He is also a welder. Mr. Smith asks that your tools be brought clean without any dirt. Attendees will have linseed oil\, rags\, and other tools provided for the class.  Mr. Smith will have a general discussion about tool maintenance and repair\, and then instruct individuals about the tools they bring to class. \nPlease park on the left when entering Shiloh Garden. Bring a chair\, water bottle and tools you’d like to learn how to repair/clean/maintain.

SUMMARY:Earth-Kind Landscape Design Course
DESCRIPTION:Course participants will learn sustainable design and installation techniques for creating or renewing home landscapes.  This course is open to the public and held two times per year at various locations in Denton County.  It involves 16 hours of design education\, active demonstrations\, sample materials and design sketching for participant-selected home landscape projects. The course duration is two consecutive days with a 60 minutes\, individualized Design Consultation scheduled one week later.  Pre-registration is required for single or companion registrations and includes a registration fee covering course materials and meals.
