Plant Sale – Set Up Day, Friday Afternoon Shifts

Many volunteer opportunities are available. Use the SignUpGenius link to sign up to volunteer.

  • Set up at Church grounds (1-6 pm). Steve Spurgin is Team Lead. signage, canopies, cashier area, holding area, education tables, other.
  • Pass Along Plants Team (1-6 pn). Lela Khan, Debbie Smith, Linda D’Amanda are Team Leads. Pass alongs check-in, set pricing, final preparations, placement.
  • Nursery Plant Preparation (1-6 pm). Price tags, deliver plants to tables.
  • Plant Photo Tags/Info – placement (1-6 pm). Susan Cosio, Team Lead.

Table Monitors (1-6 pm). Melissa Weaver and Judy Allen are Team Leads. Maintain plant layouts, plant care, display. Sales training at 3 pm

  • Trees – Table monitors.
  • Part Shade Plants – Table Monitors
  • Sun Plants – Table Monitors
  • Sun/Part Sun Plants – Table Monitors
  • Super Spreader Plants – Table Monitors
  • Make an Offer Tables

Parking, Safety, and Customer Assistance (1- 6 pm). Jeff Hardgrave is Team Lead. Monitor traffic, direct volunteer parking.

Sales People – Friday training (3pm). Suzie Cook is Team Lead. Circulate & assist customers. Training Friday at 3 pm.

Where I Am Needed (1-6 pm). Assist in any area needed. Details regarding assignment will be sent prior to event date.

Cashiers – Friday training at 2pm – work member sale at 4pm. Bring chair, phone/tablet capable of running Square app. Kathryn Wells/Pat Moyer is Team Lead. 2 member teams. One member reviews and tallies Ticket, charges/makes change. One member completes Square transaction. Prior experience desirable. Training at 2 pm.

Greeters – Friday is training only at 2pm. Lee Ann Yates/Pat Moyer is Team Lead. Greet shoppers. Explain layout and flow. Explain use and availability of carts and Holding Area. Promote Garden Tour tickets.

Ticket Writers – Friday training at 2pm and work member sale at 4pm. Lee Ann Yates/Pat Moyer is Team Lead. 2 person teams. Tally plant purchases on pre-printed, color-coded tickets & route to cashier. No complex math.

Line Monitors (wranglers). Friday is training only at 2pm. Positioned between Ticket Writers and Cashiers. Verify customers have completed tickets, have not left plants in Holding area, ask if want to purchase Garden Tour tickets. Friday is training only at 2pm.

Holding Area – Friday is training only at 2pm. Dale Powell is Team Lead. Set up on Friday. May move to another volunteer assignment when set up is complete. Training at 2pm. Area will not be available for use until Saturday.
